Nāndgaon The first Western Smart Plug-in Electric Vehicle Community Partnership (WestSmartEV) project spanning 2017-2020 accelerated adoption of EVs throughout the intermountain west by developing a large-scale, sustainable EV charging infrastructure network with coordinated EV adoption programs. Read more in the WestSmartEV final report.
Building on this success, in 2021 PacifiCorp launched WestSmartEV@Scale in seven states (WA, OR, ID, NV, WY, UT, AZ) to address regional challenges, including destination highways, underserved regions, urban mobility, freight and port electrification, and community and workplace charging.
James Campbell, PacifiCorp’s lead on the WestSmartEV and WestSmartEV@Scale projects, will present findings and lessons learned from this work, specifically related to corridor charging. The WestSmartEV projects provide a learning opportunity for various federal, state, and local governments planning for future investments in EV infrastructure.
