Drive Electric Rochester

A yearly event hosted by GRCC in collaboration with the National Drive Electric Week campaign which is a nationwide celebration to raise awareness of the many benefits of all-electric and plug-in hybrid cars, trucks, motorcycles, and more! Drive Electric Rochester was one of the largest NDEW events in the nation in 2023!

This year’s Drive Electric Rochester event will be held on September 28th at RIT Lot T from 10am-2pm. Visit National Drive Electric Week for more information!

Zero Emission School Bus Initiative

An educational program in recognition of the NYS mandate that established a deadline for the transition to zero-emission buses requiring all school buses purchased by 2027 to be zero-emission buses, with the entire fleet transitioned to zero emission by 2035.

GRCC is dedicated to supporting the NYS mandate and helping school fleets in our region successfully manage the transition to zero emission school buses.

Annual Stakeholder Meeting & Awards

GRCC hosts an annual stakeholder event to recognize the contributions our stakeholders have made to the Greater Rochester area in advancing clean transportation!

Annual awards include:

  • Green Fleet Leadership Award
  • Achievement Awards for Organizations or Individuals
  • Outstanding Contributor Award

Alternative Fuel Activities 

Greater Rochester Clean Cities gathers regional data on pricing, availability, and trends in the advanced fuel market. This information supports the U.S. Department of Energy and Transportation’s national database, which tracks trends, enhances systems, and aids citizens and businesses in making informed transportation decisions. GRCC hosts workshops and webinars to spread awareness, resources, and education on the transition to alternative fuels in transportation.

AMPED

GRCC is proud to support the AMPED Go All Electric campaign that is dedicated to making the Genesee-Finger Lakes region healthier, more efficient, and more resilient by supporting our community’s transition to vehicles and buildings powered by carbon-free electricity.

Causewave Community Partners

GRCC is made possible through the support of Causewave Community Partners, a local nonprofit that partners with local nonprofit organizations and community groups in the Finger Lakes and Western NY region to make communities stronger by building capacity within nonprofit organizations in order to bring voice to diverse public issues and needs.

NYS Clean Cities and Communities Alliance

Along with the five other New York State Clean Cities and Communities coalitions, GRCC has helped form the NYS Clean Cities and Communities Alliance to partner on statewide initiatives to further advance affordable, efficient, and clean transportation fuels and technologies. The goal of these programs is to strengthen the nation’s environment, energy security, and economic prosperity.
