Henrietta, NY – January 23, 2024 – Greater Rochester Clean Cities (GRCC) hosted its annual meeting at the Henrietta Public Library, bringing together industry leaders, stakeholders, and community members to provide updates on its organizational impact, alternative fuel industry trends, and to recognize local efforts being made in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
A highlight of the event was the presentation of achievement awards that celebrate regional organizations and individuals for their commitment to reducing emissions and advancing clean energy and transportation. This year’s recipients were:
- Gates-Chili Central School District – Honored for its leadership in incorporating electric buses into its school transportation fleet.
- Suburban Disposal – Recognized for its long-standing efforts and the considerable impact made by integrating clean fuel technologies into its waste collection operations.
- Anne Spaulding – Recognized for the many contributions she has made in her tenure with the City of Rochester that have significantly reduced the city’s carbon footprint in both transportation and buildings.
“GRCC stakeholders are helping build a healthier community,” said Olivia Arnone, Director of GRCC and Senior Program Manager at Causewave Community Partners. “Their commitment and leadership play a crucial role in the advancement and adoption of clean energy in the Greater Rochester region.”
