GRCC Participates in Arbor Day/ Electric Vehicle Day Event
Greater Rochester Clean Cities collaborated with the Village of Lima and the New York State Electric Automobile Association to sponsor a combined Arbor Day Event and Electric Vehicle Event. It took place at Mark Tubbs Memorial Park in Lima on May 1, 2021.
As part of the celebration of Arbor Day, the Village of Lima gave trees to the first 100 attendees. These included choices of hardwood or coniferous options.
Members of the New York State Electric Automobile Association supported the event with displays of 39 electric vehicles by their owners. These vehicles, which included a variety of EV makes and models, were on display for the entire 3-hour event with owners available to talk about their cars and answer questions from the public.
The Dorschel Automotive Group bought two electric cars from their dealership and had sales staff on-site to answer question. The vehicles displayed included a Nissan leaf and an VW I4.
Since this is part of our outreach efforts, GRCC staffed a table and provided information on electric vehicles to interested members of the public.
A total of 175 people attended the event.
