Batavia Downs Gaming and Hotel celebrated the installation of their first EV charging station on Wednesday, August 1st. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was conducted by Batavia Downs Gaming and Hotel COO, Michael Nolan, and presided over by Greater Rochester Clean Cities President, Anne Spaulding, and Coordinator, David Keefe.
The ChargePoint Level 2 dual-connector charging station can be found at the Batavia Downs Gaming and Hotel, 8315 Park Rd. Batavia NY 14020, in the parking lot by the valet entrance.
Batavia is one of 5 localities identified in Genesee Region Electric Vehicle Charging Station Plan as recipients for EV charging stations. The electric vehicle charging station installation was supported by New York State Energy Research and Development Authority to advance Governor Andrew M. Cuomo’s ambitious goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 40 percent by 2030 by encouraging the growth of electric vehicle use.
